Canoeing tour in Lapland (4d)

Canoeing tour in Lapland (4d)

Duration: 4 days / Difficulty: Easy

Ounasjoki river is the longest freely flowing river that is entirely inside finnish borders (290km). It starts from Hetta Enontekiö and goes south to Rovaniemi in the middle of Lapland's wilderness. This tour should cover the first 100 km from Hetta to Levi/Kittilä. Average paddling distance about 25 km a day. Overnighting in tents along the way by the river. Tour covers some rather easy rapids which we will scout by foot. After scouting we will decide how to pass the rapids: carrying, paddling or lining. Fishing is also possible. Possible catches are trout, grayling, pike and perch. Goal is to end the tour to Levi. Guide is a paddling instructor certified by Finnish Paddling Association. No previous experience of paddling is not mandatory. This is a nice tour where we can all enjoy the nature, peacefullness and silence.
